The team at MacGregor Healthcare had the pleasure of attending the Association for Continence Advice (ACA) conference on 15/16th May at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham.
Once again ACA have triumphed in what was a very well organised conference. The programme was packed full of presentations that slotted into the ACA theme of ‘Stronger Together’ and show cased the passion and expertise of healthcare professionals in their roles and teams.
Pelvic Organ Prolapse: Guidelines, training and relevance to continence
Dr Angie Randell, Lead Nurse, Urogynaecology, King’s College Hospital, London
Dr Angie Rantell, (Lead Nurse, Urogynaecology, King’s College Hospital, London,) presented “Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP): guidelines, training and relevance to continence”. This was a superb presentation that positively highlighted the importance of holistically reviewing POP with a patient. Thus, potentially discovering hidden correlations that can sometimes be overlooked, for example: a chronic cough (from smoking) and/or obstructed defaecation, both of which primarily will require exploring when it comes to treatment.
The Power of Partnership
Catherine Hopper, Senior Specialist Pelvic Health and Breast Care Physiotherapist, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust
Catherine Hopper (Senior Specialist Physiotherapist in Pelvic Health, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust) presented at the MacGregor Healthcare symposium ‘The power of partnership’.
Catherine talked through how rectal irrigation was introduced to their service and how rectal irrigation was introduced to their service through a collaboration with the team at MacGregor Healthcare, including our Clinical Team, Key Account Manager and myqufora support team. Our collaboration assisted and guided the Physiotherapy team in supporting their patients and as a result they have developed a more streamlined service. Thank you, Catherine, for a remarkable presentation.
Overall, this was another great conference by the ACA. Thank you to all of you who visited our stand and showed such a huge interest in the Qufora range of products, we really enjoy meeting new faces and catching up with those we know.
